Hot Yoga

Awesome, you’re thinking about taking your first Hot Yoga class!  Or maybe you just took your first class and you’re looking for a few tips.  We’re here to help!

We are beginner friendly, and every class can be tailored to the needs of new yoga students.  In our classes, you’ll find a full range of ages, body types, backgrounds, and yoga experience.

Everyone in our community was new once, and we know you have questions!  

Before coming to a class:

  • Stay hydrated starting a few hours before class, and try not to eat any big meals for a few hours prior to arrival

  • Wear form fitting clothes that won’t hinder your movements, prepare to sweat!

  • Bring a yoga mat and a long towel to lay on top of your mat.

  • Bring a plastic or metal bottle of water. No glass bottles allowed due to breakage.

You’ve arrived at the center for hot yoga 15-20 minutes before class:

  • Please remove your shoes once you enter since the studios are bare-feet friendly

  • Check in on our app. 

  • For first timers, you’ll need to sign the waiver. 

  • Please let the staff or teacher know of any physical challenges that you are experiencing that day so proper modifications to the postures can be provided

  • Class begins!

    • During class, listen to your body, be safe, and move into hot yoga at your own pace.  Discomfort is normal and somewhat expected during any workout, sharp or severe pain is not and should be avoided

    • If you need to rest, feel free to sit down, take a savasana (lay on your back), or move into child’s pose (kneeling with your head down in front of you)

    • Try not to leave or re-enter the room during class.  Doing so can be distracting to others and moving in and out of the hot room will not allow your body to fully adjust to the heat and receive the benefits of the practice

    • As a beginner to Hot Yoga it’s completely normal to spend a good portion of your first few classes laying on the floor taking a break.  With time and a few more classes, you’ll be amazed at how your body adjusts to the climate.  Stick with it!
